About Us

With a view to provide for the encouragement, organization, development and regulation of Khadi & Village Industries in the State the Board is constituted under The Bombay Khadi & Village Industries Act, 1960.

Main Functions

  1. To start, encourage, assist and carry on Khadi & Village Industries
  2. To help people by providing them with work in their homes and to give loans and other form of monetary help.
  3. To conduct Training for increasing technical skills of the Artisans
  4. To manufacture tools and implements required for carrying Khadi & Village Industries.
  5. To arrange for the supply of raw materials and tools & implements.
  6. To arrange for sale of finished products by opening stores, shops or organize exhibitions.
  7. To encourage establishment of Cooperative Societies for the purpose
  8. To endeavor and to impress upon the public the advantages of patronizing the  products of Khadi & Village Industries.
  9. To Provide Monetary assistance, technical support and market access to VIs
  10. To undertake IEC activities of Khadi & Village Industries Products
  11. To Conduct Training & Workshops to enhance technical Skills
  12. To manufacture Standard tools and equipments

Strengthen Balutedar Societies and increase Financial Assistance given to societies by at least three times  that  at  present.
