The Maharashtra State Khadi and Village Industries is the only effective means of generating employment in rural areas. Inspired by Gandhiji’s slogan ” Go to the village”, the board has taken up village industry. The aim of the board is to bring about a radical change in the standard of living of small-scale industries as well as rural artisans.

The Board is implementing effective schemes to provide a rightful market for the goods manufactured by rural artisans. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to work through the board to strengthen the rural economy. I will make a sincere effort to do justice to the board on the basis of my administrative experience.
