The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is an ambitious independent ‘Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme’ of the state, taking into consideration the large number of proposals received for self-employment by the emerging youth and the state’s natural resources and inbuilt capacity, as well as the limited objectives of the Self-Employment Promotion Scheme of the Central Government. This scheme has been announced to be implemented in the state from the financial year 2019-20 as per the Government’s New Industrial Policy 2019 Issue No. 5 (II)’É 9.2.
Scheme Level : The ‘Mukhya Mantri Rozgar Nirman Programme’ will be implemented at the state level by the Directorate of Industries, Mumbai, under the Directorate of Industries, as the main implementing agency of the scheme.
Objective of the Scheme: In order to make the youths of the state self-sufficient, their self-employment projects can be easily established with the financial support of the state government, and the main objective is to establish about 1 lakh micro and small enterprises in the next five years, and through that, a total of 10 lakh employment opportunities will be available in the state. For the first year, 2019–2020, a total target of 10 thousand beneficiary units has been set.
(A) Definition of Industry under the Scheme : All industries are eligible for the benefit of this scheme except the negative industries decided by Khadi Commission.
